Adult Assessments

I suspect that there may be something different about how I process information. What now?

Most of our clients seek an assessment after thinking they may experience the world differently than those around them. Some people notice that a recently diagnosed child presents with the same behavioral or learning patterns that they recognize in themselves. An assessment will likely provide an answer about your learning style and type of neurodivergence and specific recommendations about accommodations, therapy, and lifestyle factors that will improve well-being and reduce known stress factors.

There are a few assessments offered. How do I choose what makes the most sense for me?

In most cases, psychoeducational assessments will be most helpful to adults who are currently in college, hope to return to school, or need accommodations for an academic setting. For those adults who are finished with schooling but are looking for self-exploration or workplace-related accommodations, an executive functioning or autism assessment may be sufficient to self-advocate for accommodations under the ADA laws.

Who will read my assessment report? How will it be used?

As soon as you receive your report, we'll discuss the findings and potential next steps. The report is yours to share with family, providers, and doctors as you see fit. It can help you set more precise academic, social, and occupational goals and can be used as a springboard in working with other behavioral health providers.
